Fuchsia DVD

Fuchsia - 'Sleepy'

I grew Sleepy for the first time in 2006 from a single rooted cutting purchased among a selection of other fuchsia varieties while on holiday in South Wales in March. Cuttings from this grew well, and so in 2007 I had several over-wintered plants in small pots grown on from cuttings taken in the Autumn. It has become one of my favourites.

Sleepy grows to around 18" high and is very suitable for growing as a single plant in a smallish pot. It is categorised as a hardy fuchsia but I have not yet myself tried it in the garden.

The tube and slightly recursive sepals are a pale pink while the corolla is lavender. The flowers are small and produced plentifully.
